EngConnect your Career is an Engineers Australia initiated event series for students and graduates keen to hear from engineers about where their engineering studies have taken them. This session will feature speakers from Transport engineering disciplines and showcase the diversity of career opportunities. After a welcome to Engineers Australia, a number of engineers will share their career stories with you, followed by networking with speakers, and engineers from a number of our technical groups.

All events are being hosted in the Engineers Australia auditorium in the Perth office, 5pm for a 5.30pm start. Light refreshments will be provided.

Emmerson Richardson BSc (Eng) MSc (Transport Eng) MBA

Emmerson Richardson

Emmerson has over 40 years’ experience in traffic engineering and transport planning with State Governments, Local Governments and as a transport planning consultant. As Director of Metropolitan Transport with the WA Department of Transport, he was responsible for the development of policies and strategies for Perth. He has assisted governments, industry and professional groups to review and develop transport policy and has presented widely on sustainable mobility management and related topics. Emmerson was chair of the Institution of Engineers’ National Committee on Transport. He is currently a member of RAC Council, RAC Club Board, Institution of Engineers Australia and Reshaping and Revitalising Committee of Committee for Perth. He is a past member of Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (UK) and Institute of Transportation Engineers (USA).

 

Tanya Moran FIEAust CPEng NPER RSA RPEQ 

Tanya Moran

 

With 18 years’ experience working as a traffic and transport engineer in private consultancy firms, Tanya has moved through from a student engineer at a small Perth based engineering firm with 60 employees to now a Senior Principal Transportation Engineer and WA Region Group Leader of a global engineering firm of 22,000 employees. Tanya has led numerous minor and major transport projects across Australia in WA, QLD and NSW. She has built her career around providing exceptional client service while delivering productive and liveable transport infrastructure and service solutions for communities, and excels at collaborating with her Clients and other specialists to enable a quality product and delivery. She is an active member of the Engineers Transport Panel Committee in both WA and previously in QLD.

 

Flori Mihai FIEAust FCIL

Flori Mihai

Flori has a master degree in Transportation Technology, specialised in rail, and postgraduate qualifications in Business Management and Building and Construction Contract Law. She is a fellow member of Chartered Institute of  Logistics and Transport Australia (CILTA); Engineers Australia, and currently holds the position of  WA Chair of Transport Australia Society and Vice Chair of WA CILTA. She works for Main Roads WA in the role of Manager Route Planning.

Flori’s in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience within the transport industry spans over 25 years with a heavy focus on data management systems, policy development, strategic asset management, community consultation, investment scenarios, pavement management systems and deterioration models, railway safety regulations and traffic coordination. She is a WA representative to several national and international road committees and organisations.

 

Zoe Maher (BEng (Hons), BCom (Hons), CPEng)

Zoe Maher

Zoe is a Chartered Civil Engineer with over 10 years of local and international experience in city shaping, sustainable transport focused projects. Her breadth of knowledge, particularly in the strategic transport planning space, and project management skills has seen her propel her career into the client relationship and project management space on a number of defining projects across Perth. In recent years, Zoe was the Design Manger for the Arup-led multidisciplinary team completing the Morley-Ellenbrook rail line Business Case and also the Project Manager for the Perth Airport Ground Transport Consolidation Project. Zoe has won notable industry awards including being recognised as one of Engineers Australia's most Innovative Engineers.
