Event Details:

Join the YEA committee for our second networking event for the year. This event is aimed at student members of engineers Australia to provide the opportunity to meet other young engineers and build the foundation of their careers. This event will be an opportunity to meet fellow engineers studying and entering the industry. These people may become your colleagues, help you to get your first jobs and help you to move up in your career later on.

In addition to the networking sessions, the YEAWA committee chair will give a masterclass on the importance of networking and how to establish yourself in a career. The skills shared may help you to recognise good and bad opportunities, understand the aims of a job interview and the steps it takes to build a rewarding and engaging career.

We hope to see you there!

About the speaker

Kurt Jennings – YEAWA Chair

Kurt began his career six years ago as a graduate structural engineer with ACOR Consultants. Using the skills that he developed throughout university his role allowed him to be exposed to many facets of the engineering industry and to gain valuable experience both technically and practically about structural design, project management and leadership.

Kurt quickly honed his skillset and is now a senior engineer leading a small team of structural engineers and drafters delivering design solutions across multiple market sectors.

Team leadership has provided Kurt with new opportunities to reflect on where his career has taken him and the decisions that led him there. His journey has provided pragmatic and clear lessons which he would like to share with future cohorts of engineers.
