Engineers Australia is excited to present our next instalment in our popular Projects in the Pub series. Come and join us at the Boodle Beasley for an opportunity to catch-up with your local YEA TAS Committee and industry colleagues and hear from our guest speakers talk about some of the most challenging and inspiring projects that they have worked on.

Bring your friends and colleagues to what is set to be a great evening of project sharing and networking with industry peers.

About the Speakers

Erin Jackson - Technical Director Transport, GHD

Erin has 18 years’ experience in the fields of traffic engineering, transport planning and project management. She has a Master’s degree in Traffic Engineering through Monash University and has spent her career working across the whole life cycle of projects from vision and strategy development, through to engineering assessments and design.

In addition to delivering Tasmanian transport projects, Erin is GHD’s National leader for their internal Smart Transport Solutions transformation initiative, and currently leading a global internal project focussing on Integrated Urban Networks.

Erin is passionate about optimising our transport networks, but also understands that transport networks in urban areas are complex, and as such must be considered holistically using systematic thinking. To this end, Erin is currently developing a strategy to rethink the approach to network planning and how we can help road agencies approach network improvements holistically using systems thinking and a collaborative approach with the community at the core.

David Ewers - Project Manager VEC Civil Engineering

2021 Tasmanian Young Professional Engineer of the Year. David is a passionate advocate for sustainable engineering, and for equitable access to sustainable engineering solutions.

He has worked on transformative projects in multiple Australian states and engaged with international projects delivering sustainable community benefits.

From wind farms to Defence bases, from motorsport facilities to water management, David’s diverse experience means he is well positioned to add value and innovation to every project he tackles.

David is committed to engaging with young Australians to show them how a career in engineering could equip them to make a difference through projects in their own communities.
